16th "Bedfordshire" Regiment of Foot
Welcome to the 16th.
Our regiment and community was formed in late 2014 with the dream of a long and lasting presence in the NW community. More than seven years later we can easily say that we have achieved this goal and expanded on it. The 16th is currently home to five companies with a very centralised command structure. The regiment is indeed one single entity rather than a motley collection of companies. To that end, there is a great synergy between the companies. Four of our companies are international while one is Greek-speaking, the largest Greek-speaking community in Napoleonic Wars and hopefully soon Sword & Musket. In addition, the six officers currently making up our staff boast a combined four decades of experience in NW.

The Companies
1st "Centre" Company
The Centre Company was the first to be formed back in December of 2014. We are an international force consisting of people from many different countries and are the main force of the regiment during events. When we battle, we use a combination of shooting and melee to bring victory and fun for our members, providing both a casual and competitive aspect to the game. The Centre is proud to be a part of this community as it has provided us with many friends (leading to real-life meetups) and countless hours of entertainment.

2nd "Lights" Company
The Light Company joined the 16th in early 2017, formed by members of a disbanded regiment who wanted to keep playing together. Having already had close ties with the 16th, our communities quickly merged into one big family with whom we regularly play other games. We also usually have a weekly drinking night which draws members from every company in the 16th. Some of us love the competitive side of Warband having played since almost the launch of NW and are keen to continue on into the future of M&B through S&M. Most of us, however, see events are opportunities to come together, hang out and have a laugh. Our role during events is to harass the enemy lines and provide fire support to the other companies as they press the attack.

3rd Company, "The Sacred Band"
The Sacred Band is a Greek-speaking double-sized company with a rich history within the Napoleonic Wars community. Originally formed in 2012 as an independent regiment, we joined the 16th in 2017 and then again in 2019. We have represented the Greek community of NW constantly ever since. We offer a disciplined environment both in and out of game, but we put our greatest emphasis on the human factor of our community. Respect for one another is our utmost goal and we have achieved this with huge success over the many years. This is shown by the many real-life friendships that have been created throughout our journey. Our role within the 16th is to support the Centre as another company of line-infantry.

4th "Guard" Company
The Guard Company joined the 16th in November of 2020. After a long period of instability as an independent regiment, we decided to join a community with which we were already familiar. The 16th was just that. Focused on having a good time at events, we believe that we've found the perfect mix between discipline and fun that makes it entertaining for veterans of our community and newer players alike. All that said, we're a very casual company that always welcomes new faces and our aim is to enjoy NW - and now S&M - while we still can.
