We are an english speaking Regiment consisting of many NW Veterans aswell as new players. Our goal is to offer an enjoyable experience, for both competetive and casual players. The regiment has a good atmosphere for players to learn and grow in without any pressure and with arguably some of the best leaders that NW has seen in recent times. We are open to covering other classes than just Line Infantry aswell.
During the early years of the Napoleonic Wars, the 55e saw action in numerous battles and campaigns across Europe. One of its notable engagements was the Battle of Austerlitz in 1805, where the French forces, including the 55e, achieved a decisive victory against the combined Russian and Austrian armies. This battle solidified Napoleon's reputation as a military genius.
The regiment continued to participate in several other major battles, such as the Battle of Jena-Auerstedt in 1806 and the Battle of Wagram in 1809. In these battles, the 55e showcased its discipline, bravery, and effectiveness on the battlefield, earning it a reputation as a reliable and capable fighting force.
One of the most iconic moments for the regiment occurred during the French invasion of Russia in 1812. As part of Napoleon's Grand Army, the 55e suffered heavy casualties and endured harsh conditions during the disastrous retreat from Moscow. Despite the hardships, the regiment displayed resilience and determination.
The 55e also participated in the Battle of Leipzig in 1813, which marked a turning point in the Napoleonic Wars. The battle resulted in the defeat of Napoleon's forces by the coalition of European powers, leading to his eventual abdication and exile.
The regiment's final significant engagement came during the Hundred Days, a period when Napoleon briefly returned to power in 1815. The 55e fought at the Battle of Waterloo, where Napoleon's forces were decisively defeated by the British and Prussian armies under the Duke of Wellington and Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher.
Following Napoleon's second abdication and the end of the Hundred Days, the 55e, like many other French military units, was disbanded as part of the post-Napoleonic demobilization efforts. The regiment's storied history came to an end, but its legacy as a dedicated and valiant unit during the Napoleonic Wars lives on in historical records and accounts of the era.
